Emergency Oxygen, Neurological Assessment, Field Assessment, and Blood Borne Pathogens

In this course, we will cover the techniques of emergency oxygen administration for suspected diving injuries and nonfatal drowning. You will learn the fundamentals of recognizing dive-injuries along with response and management.

DAN Neurological Assessment course focuses on how to obtain essential information about an individual involved in a dive emergency or suspected of having a stroke and what information to relay to EMS. Rapid recognition of and response to a suspected neurological injury, regardless of cause, can help convince the injured person of the need for emergency oxygen and help the responder monitor the injured person's condition and report findings to emergency medical services (EMS).

This seminar is strongly recommended to be taken in conjunction with [CPR & AED] seminar, [Diving First Aid and First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries] seminar, [Lost at Sea – Crisis Prevention and Management] seminar, and the [rescue diving workshop] for a complete and well-rounded training consisting of both in-pool as well as in-class instruction.
