Raja Ampat to E. Forgotten Islands and Triton Bay: Diving and Eco Expedition 2023

Ocean Safari is no stranger to Raja Ampat. Over the years, we’ve had many expeditions to this wondrous underwater world of life and every time has left us in awe of its beauty. This time, we’ll be starting off our journey from Raja Ampat and venture south to the Kai Archipelago on the north eastern edge of the Forgotten Islands. Here, we’ll be among the very first divers to lay their eyes on the islands’ pristine coral reef wonders and amazing deep walls covered with soft corals, sea fans, and sponges. From there, we’ll move on to Triton Bay, also known as the Kingdom of Fishes, where we can observe the intimate relationship that some village fishermen have with the whale sharks in the area, and have the chance to snorkel with these majestic animals. This route through the world-renowned coral triangle is specialized for us to maximize our experiences in one of the most unique and memorable places in the world.

Expedition Itinerary:

Jan 30 (Mon): Depart LAX in the late evening to Jakarta, Indonesia. 

Jan 31 (Tue): Cross International Date Line

Feb 1 (Wed): Arrive in Jakarta, Indonesia early afternoon, check into the hotel for the rest of the day. Go back to the airport late evening. Fly to Sorong. 

Feb 2 (Thurs): Arrive in Sorong in the morning. Board the world-renowned, First-class liveaboard, Arenui, which will be our home for the next 12 days and 11 nights. Set sail from the heart of Raja Ampat through the Banda Sea. 

Feb 3 ~ Feb 12 (Fri-Sun): Adventure as underwater explorers through Raja Ampat, through the Kai Archipelago and to Triton Bay, relax in five star accommodation, feast upon world class meals, and enjoy paradise on board the best liveaboard in the world. 

Feb 13 (Mon): Say farewell to the Arenui and her crew in the morning. Depart from Kaimana to Jakarta through Ambon. Arrive in Jakarta in the afternoon. Check into the hotel. Free program remainder of day. 

Feb 14 (Tue): Depart Jakarta in the afternoon, fly back to Los Angeles. Arrive at LAX the same day.
