Mobulas, Whales and Beyond - Sea of Cortez 2027

June 26 - July 2, 2027

Dubbed “the Aquarium of the World” by Jacques Cousteau, the Sea of Cortez is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its extraordinary marine biodiversity. Home to nearly 900 fish species, 36 marine mammals, and thousands of invertebrates, this remarkable sea is shaped by deep trenches, shallow bays, and nutrient-rich upwelling currents that sustain an abundance of life. Together, these unique conditions create one of the highest concentrations of marine life on the planet, making this an unparalleled diving destination.

Every year from April through July, tens of thousands of migrating mobula rays gather in the coastal waters of Baja California Sur, creating one of the ocean's most spectacular wildlife events. These graceful rays glide beneath the surface and launch into acrobatic leaps above the water. This amazing spectacle attracts orcas, dolphins, sea lions, and countless other species.

Experience this extraordinary event on an all-inclusive guided expedition with one of Mexico’s most experienced local operators, featuring authentic Baja-style accommodations, daily diving adventures, and island visits. Dive into the pristine, crystal-clear waters of the Sea of Cortez and explore the underwater wonders of La Ventana and La Paz, where dramatic sea mounts, intriguing shipwrecks, and unforgettable wildlife encounters create an exceptional underwater adventure.
